Junior Chamber International are a non governmental, non party aligned, non religious organization that does not make discrimination of sex, color or creed, created in December 11, 1944 in Mexico City by 30 young leaders from United States of America, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama.
Being a leadership training organization, Junior Chamber International Johor Bahru felt responsible to contribute to their community by providing the youth the comprehensive platform to polish their leadership skills, widen their circles of friend, provides golden key to effective communication and chairmanship skills that would open new doors in their career and social life.
Junior Chamber International Johor Bahru (JCIJB) was formerly known as Jaycees Johor Bahru and the change of its own was only effected at the end of year 1999.
JCIJB started in 1989 when JCI Senator Andrew Tiong from Seduan Jaycees and JCI Senator Randy Loo from Junior Chamber International Kuala Lumpur (West) introduced and explained the movements to our Chartered President, Past Presidents and few founder members. Our sponsor chapter is Junior Chamber International Kuala Lumpur (West). On 9th Oct. 1989, this chapter was officially approved by the Registrar of Society marking the birth of Jaycees Johor Bahru. Being a new chapter, it was very tough to run the chapter as we lack of manpower and experience.
Nevertheless, after a few years of hardwork, our chapter has managed to build up our image in Malaysia as well as overseas. In August 1995, we have signed up the sisterhood pact with Junior Chamber International Taiwan, Newcastle, marking another historical moment of our chapter. In Year 2007, after 11 years of friendship with JCI City in Singapore , we signed the sisterhood pact with them in ASPAC 2007. This has further enlarged our international Network.
