The JCI Senate is a very special institution and branch of the JCI organisation .

Our senatorships confer distinction on all of us for outstanding service to JCI. Those of our peers who worked, very often in secret, to prepare our Senate nomination were obviously motivated and impressed by our acts and our deeds.

 Accordingly, we, of all alumni must never forget and can be proud of the fact that we have previously motivated and inspired our fellow JCI members in the past.

 It is vital for society that all young people in particular play an active role in contributing to and developing the society they live in. Of course Active Citizenship is not solely the preserve of any generation.

No matter what age or stage in life you find yourself we all have a responsibility to be Active Citizens and all Senators to become active in promoting all young people to contribute to society through JCI.

One of the most constructive contributions we can make as senators is to constantly and actively promote the JCI movement every hour of every day. 

A practical way to start doing this from this day forth is to make a commitment to wear your Senate Pin every day.

Please see it as an essential part of your daily attire. Be proud of the honour conferred on you and as a life long member of JCI do not be shy in displaying this permanently.

The displaying of pins is very often the catalyst and opportunity to start talking about this wonderful organization particularly when someone enquires as to what you are wearing.

It is an excellent promotion and recruitment tool and as senators one of our essential roles in JCI is to be actively recruiting. When you stop to think about it senators are one of the best examples of members who have benefited from JCI and consequently whom better to promote the JCI movement.

So, from this day forth let us all make the commitment to be Active Citizens and to do so for the benefit of the JCI movement.
