THE JCI OFFICIAL COURSES These courses are created and designed by JCI International Training Fellows and is made available to all JCI members. Official courses are only to be conducted by JCI Certified Trainers following the standards and procedures set by JCI. This is to ensure professionalism and consistency in the execution and delivery of these programs. JCI Official Courses are JCI Achieve, JCI Admin, JCI Presenter, JCI Trainer, JCI Designer and JCI Head Trainer. JCI ACHIEVE COURSE JCI Achieve, the JCI Local Organization Development Course is a full day course that uses discussions and case studies to understand and establish the local organization’s identity, its purpose and what to do to accomplish JCI’s Mission, effectively adopt and use recognizable and appreciated activities, understand the existing demographic groups and their characteristics and how to build a attractive organization that will bring in new members who are looking for the development opportunities and want to create positive change as active citizens. JCI Achieve should be taken by all members who want to fully understand the meaning, purpose and dynamics of building an attractive JCI local organization. Length: Full day JCI ADMIN COURSE JCI Admin, the JCI Local Organization Management Course is a full day course recommended for all new local board members or any member who wants to become a leader at any level in the local organization. The course covers the structure of the local board, management of the local organization affairs, the conducting of meetings, planning and the importance of having community activities for the achievement of JCI's Mission. JCI Admin should be taken by all members who want to become local officers and want to understand the role and responsibilities of officers and dynamics of the management, administration, meetings, opportunities and planning of an efficient JCI local organization. Length: Full day JCI PRESENTER COURSE JCI Presenter, the JCI Effective Presentation Course is a full day course that focuses on the concepts of creating and delivering an effective presentation utilizing visual aids and strong delivery methods with a mind towards understanding the audience. Participants practice presentations during the entire course. JCI Presenter should be taken by all members who want to expand their presentation skills in order to make better project reports and intervene during chapter meetings. Length and Participants: Full day JCI TRAINER COURSE JCI Trainer, the JCI planning and delivering adult training course is a two day course that covers adult learning styles, the best training methods to teach adults, the training tools and other techniques you need to understand to deliver training for adult audiences. JCI Trainer can be taken by those who graduated from JCI Presenter and want to develop their confidence in presenting complex information in an understandable and interesting way, and increase your ability to motivate others. Note: Participants are required to bring a laptop computer to work on the course development. JCI DESIGNER COURSE JCI Designer, the JCI Training Designers Course is a three day course that introduces techniques and tools to design training courses with detailed trainers’ instructions, participants’ handouts and visual aids in such way that other trainers can easily conduct the course. Note: Participants are required to bring a laptop computer to work on the course development. JCI Head Trainer is only available for Certified National Trainers level and above and presents the JCI Training standards of performance and efficiency for JCI Certified Trainers, unveils the methods of mentoring and coaching the Assistant Trainers, helping them to improve their skills and efficiency in delivering the course content and brings up the Head Trainer’s responsibilities with online course administration, programming and reporting.
THE JCI NON-OFFICIAL COURSES Every year thousands of JCI trainers conduct and design training courses. Most of these courses are meant to fill the specific needs of local and national organizations. Some of these courses are outstanding and become part of the JCI Training Library. Most of them are adapted from the original version to fit in any class and anywhere in the world. Most of the Training Courses have been prepared in such a way that the coach can adapt the session according to the time available. Each of the Training Courses is self-contained, complete with speaking notes and suggested workshop topics.

There is the misconception that every negotiation involves money. This is not so. According to Roger Dawson, an authority on negotiation: ‘ Anytime you want something from someone else and anytime someone wants something from you, you are negotiating.’ Everything is negotiable and every day you negotiate with customers, suppliers, colleagues, your wife and even your children. Negotiation is a game and like any game has its rules (principles) and tactics (gambits). Also, advance preparation is a must. Key factors that determine the outcome of every negotiation include – Power, Information, Time, Communication Skills (Verbal and Non Verbal) and Personality. Good negotiators strive for Win – Win outcomes.
Listening is an Unique Selling Point that is much underestimated. In most management trainings the emphasis is on presenting yourself, selling yourself, talking and being assertive. A good listener only the words themselves matter, but also to the meaning behind the words and the non-verbal language around it.
