MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT 2009 OF JUNIOR CHAMBER INTERNATIONAL JOHOR BAHRU (MALAYSIA) JC VALENT TAN KHIM YEW

When you’re not headed in any particular direction, that’s where you’ll end up arriving – nowhere. When you have no specific goal in mind, that’s what you’ll end up accomplishing – nothing. When you give yourself a clear, specific goal, your actions will take the right course itself. This is the power of PURPOSE.

You can make a positive change right now. It may be small, it may not seem to matter, but it does matter very much. Even if the only thing you improve is your attitude, you’ve done a great deal. No matter where you come from, what your history or background may be, you can make your world a better place.

JCI JB has been organizing various projects for the better advancement of our communities and training young leaders and entrepreneurs. This year is the 19^th year JCI JB continuing to uphold JCI Vision, to be the leading global network of young active citizens, and to provide development opportunities that will empowers the new generation to create positive change.

As the incoming president of JCI JB, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all our presidents and members in the past for their selfless contribution. Without them, I wouldn’t even have the privilege to be standing here. To my Board of Directors, thank you for staying with me through thick and thin, the road ahead may presence many challenges and obstacles, but you guys have demonstrated extreme capabilities that I do believe, we can ride through the toughest storm. To this joint installation Organising Chairman Kok Heng, Co-Organising Chairman Jackson Chia and their organising committee, thank you for your contributions and dedications for allowing us to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

My Presidential Theme this year is “Creating WE!!” WE as in term of there is no colour or races discrimination, WE as in term there is no education or background difference, WE as in term we are not just an individual but a Team, a Family, and it is WE as US first black President Barrack Obama says that are capable to create a change.

Start with something in your own life, start with joining JCI, and you’ll soon see how you can spread the value to others.

Greetings to JCI Johor Bahru’s President, JC Valent Tan.

On behalf of JCI City Singapore, congratulations on as the President of JCI Johor Bahru (Malaysia). Your leadership and inspirations will accelerate the progress of JCI Johor Bahru.

When we look into the future, we all envision advances and improvements for a better society. With President Valent and his team, we can be confident he has the best intentions for JCI Johor Bahru not only planned in mind, but intended in heart.

The affinity between JCI Johor Bahru (Malaysia) and JCI City (Singapore) traced back a long time. All these years, our relationship has been strengthened during through mutual visits and international events. JCI Johor Bahru has been always supportive in projects we staged, we are most appreciative of their attendance. JCI Johor Bahru has truly exhibited the brotherhood and jayceeism in their deliveries. I believe that this relation will go on for many years to come.

JCI City Singapore will be celebrating our 60^th Anniversary in 2009, we would like to extend our hospitality should you visit us in Singapore!  

We wish JCI Johore Bahru all the best in 2009!
